After escaping the cold Boston winters in 1981, Sharon started her career as a vacation specialist, and then expanded into sales, specializing in high end properties. Sharon was a sales agent, broker, then sales manager of a real estate company from 1985 to early 1996 when the owner retired and closed the company. So, Sharon turned lemons into lemonade and opened CALYPSO REALTY on March 1, 1996 in a charming office suite with French doors and windows in the St. Thomas This Week building in bustling Havensight. The office is within sight and sound of the cruise ships that tie up each day. And with coveted private parking on premises; it's convenient for client appointments. Since St. Thomas is a small tropical island (34 square miles of verdant hills and sandy and rocky coastline) most Realtors tend to handle the full spectrum of real estate from the sale of land and condos to million dollar + estates and retail opportunities such as boutiques, restaurants, businesses and leaseholds. Completing the full service real estate business are the leasing of short term vacation villas & condos and long term (one year+) of condos and luxury homes. Sharon and Barbara often work as a team with clients and so that we are completely familiar with all aspects of on-going transactions. Barbara is a past Director and Treasurer of the St. Thomas Board of Realtors®. Barbara and her husband Kevin along with their youngest son Tyler moved to St. Thomas in 2000 from Bangor, Maine. Kevin has his own law practice in Charlotte Amalie. Their other two older children live in the states - daughter Jessica is a graphic designer in Northern California and their oldest son Ian, a fisherman, also is living in Northern California.
